At The Brisbane Club, it is all about mixing business with pleasure. Members can enjoy a variety of functions from high tea to degustation dinners.
Proey, Pro-ho, whatever you call it, it’s practically a right of passage to visit this iconic Brisbane club. After (carefully) making your way down the stairs, you’ll be greeted with a massive dancefloor and plenty of bottle service areas.
The Marquee Bar
The Marquee Bar (known to locals as Proey) is one of the most iconic clubbing venues in Brisbane. Nestled perfectly on Wickham Street and ablaze with its signature lit-up sign, the venue is unmissable. After a (carefully) trek down the stairs and a quick scan of the crowd, you’re met with a dancefloor that pumps to booming music and often a live saxophone. There’s something for everyone here with regular events like student night, ladies night and a renowned Funktions department that hosts massive DJ afterparties for Brisbane festivals.
On a normal night, you’ll be welcomed with a chilled atmosphere and menu of classic street food before things start to heat up on the dancefloor late into the night. The state-of-the-art sound and lighting system and DJs will have you moving your feet and grooving all night long.
The club also boasts some impressive function rooms and facilities that can host everything from intimate cocktail parties to large-scale weddings and gala dinners. Their functions team will work directly with you to create a memorable event that meets and exceeds your expectations. Their dedicated in-house catering and beverage manager will ensure every detail is taken care of and the best of their premium wines, spirits and champagnes are available on request.
The Bar
As a pillar to the club’s proceedings, The Bar serves as a stark welcome leading to a dancefloor and DJ booth. It is a sophisticated drinker’s paradise where elbows run across three finishes of different surfaces – timber panelling topped by marble, oversized weatherboards and millboard crested with recycled timber tops. A wide variety of drinks are served – from Prohibition signatures to classics and muddled mixtures.
The bar is tucked into the city’s oldest laneway, Burnett Lane. The large bar is surrounded by trendy leather stools, while large green leather booths fill the space. The bar has hundreds of whiskeys on offer, as well as plenty of gins and rums. It is the perfect place to relax with friends or colleagues and sample some of the best craft beers in Brisbane.
There is also an expansive menu, offering everything from high tea to degustation lunches and gourmet truffle dinners. The Club’s Executive Chef is Caleb Bilewicz, a classically trained chef who has won many awards for his work. Whether it is an intimate dinner for 12 or a gala ball for 250, the Club can host any type of function. Its six stunning function rooms have high vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows. They are ideal for weddings, cocktail parties, birthdays or other special events. The club’s function coordinator can organise florists, bands, pianists and other entertainment.
