The island is being developed and lived upon with preservation of the natural environment in mind. Even though there are homes, the majority of the land remains open to nature with pine and sabal palms coexisting on many beaches.
Guests at the Bald Head Island Club enjoy a top-ranked aquatics center including a heated 25-meter lap pool, family pool with waterslides, splash pad and playground and a gazebo bar and ocean view restaurant named Horizons. Membership is required to use these facilities. Full and temporary memberships are available for guests staying in Bald Head Island vacation rental properties. - Zero-Entry Leisure Pool
Zero entry, also known as beach entry, pools have quickly become a hot trend in pool design. This style features a gradual slope from the deck to the water, and can be enhanced with features like sand, rock waterfalls, or even decorative beach plants to create an almost beachlike experience as you gently enter the water.
Although there are many upsides to this design, it’s not ideal for every pool. Because of the increased slope, this type of pool requires more space than traditional pools, making it less suitable for smaller yards. Additionally, the sloping design can draw unwanted visitors (like local pets or wildlife) into the pool and can cause a variety of maintenance issues.

The recently renovated aquatics complex boasts a 25-meter pool, children’s slide, splash pad and playground, zero-entry leisure pool and cabana bar surrounded by posh but comfortable chairs, umbrellas and a spectacular ocean view. Open April thru October, the incredible pools continue to be a top attraction for families and children.
Proof of membership is required for all guests entering the Aquatics Center. Loud vocal conduct, cursing, altercations with staff and non-compliance with the Rules of Conduct will not be tolerated. Pool rules and regulations are available in the Clubhouse. Children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

The pool area has trellis-covered lounge seating along the new resort-style lap pool and chaise ledge loungers at the zero-entry leisure pool with incredible vistas. The Cabana Bar, located between the two pools offers both beverage service and snack foods. Also nearby is Sandpiper Coffee and Ice Cream which offers a variety of great breakfast treats and local ice cream. Delphina Coastal Cuisine features seafood, Mexican and fun pizza. Other grab-and-go lunches include the shrimp tacos at Jules’ Salty Grub & Island Pub and the Tempura Green Beans or Chili Garlic Shrimp at Side Wok.
